He then arranged for us to have tours and came with us to look at them. I was utterly surprised when we ended up renting the first place he took us to visit. Great service from Ray recently to help us find a place in Tianmu. Great communication and advice, good negotiation and guidance through the contracting process and some follow up for moving in. Even if you use an agent (representing the landlord generally!) and especially if you don’t speak mandarin, I advise you to get Ray to represent you as tenant. I learnt how to use 591 with translation and was able to give Ray ideas in addition to his own suggestions. I recommend you do the same. Cheers.

I absolutely could not have found my apartment (which is everything I hoped for!) without Ray’s assistance. Having just arrived in Taipei with no Mandarin skills whatsoever, I was pretty quickly overwhelmed by the apartment hunt. I’m normally someone who tries to go it alone, but google translate was just not going to cut it in this case. I met with Ray shortly after contacting him and explained what I was looking for in an apartment and in a neighborhood, and he got right to work researching places in my budget and sending me listings. He contacted landlords on my behalf and accompanied me to apartment viewings to translate for me and give me his opinion. When I decided on a place, he came with me to sign the contract and went through it with me so I would know what I was signing. He did a great job (quickly!) and I recommend him 100%.

Ray is a caring gentleman whose primary motivation is helping people find homes that make them happy and comfortable.
He only works for the person searching for a home, unlike typical real estate agents who are incentivized to try and make you spend more money so that they get paid more. His fee is the same no matter what price your home ends up costing you.
His rates are reasonable enough for even those with a fairly tight budget and who usually have the most need for a helping hand through this process.
He would absolutely be the first person I would suggest for anyone looking for help finding a rental home, especially any English speaking expats who are Chinese challenged!
